Public Enemies:Directed by Michael Mann
Starring Johnny Depp, Christian Bale and Billy Crudup
Michael Mann is probably the best director when it comes to combining awesome action with actual substance from a story. There should be some amazing shootouts in this movie and it gives us Johnny Depp in a normal role and not as a swashbuckling pirate. It is really the first "normal" role for Depp since Blow. And Christian Bale, he's so hot right now....
Funny People: Written and Directed by Judd Apatow
Starring Seth Rogen, Adam Sandler, Jonah Hill, Leslie Mann and Eric Bana
The last two (and only two) movies that Judd Apatow wrote and directed were Knocked Up and 40 Year Old Virgin. Two of the funniest movies of all time and this movie looks like it is going to be much of the same. And I don't know about you but I am crazy excited to see Sandler get back into the actual comedy game, and no Zohan did not count as real comedy. This looks like it could put Sandler back on the comedic level he was on back in the days of Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore. Add to the fact that he is being directed by Judd Apatow who will let him improv several of his lines and the fact that he will be improving said lines with Seth Rogen only adds to my excitement and nerd boner if you will.
